Ever heard the phrase “eat your greens”? If you’re a lover of salads, a cruncher of kale chips, or frequent maker of avo toast, you probably have. It’s a short series of words I’ve become quite acquainted with as well. But sometimes, I just don’t want to rummage around my kitchen looking for a cutting board, or spend time prepping all of my veggies with a knife. When I find myself craving something cruciferous and delicious, something I can whip up rather quickly, I avoid my cutlery completely, and reach for a blender…

I’m talking smoothies. And right now, this has to be one of my favorite recipes. The base is made from Spirulina and a plant-based protein blend which is loaded with energizing and adaptogenic herbs. Then I’ve added in some zucchini for added fiber and a creaminess that is undeniable. Of course, I had to toss on a few of my favorite toppings for some added texture, because a little crunch is always necessary in my opinion. But no forks needed for this one- perhaps just a spoon. If eating greens are totally your thing, you’re likely no stranger to drinking them, too.

Supergreen Superfood Smoothie with Zucchini and Coconut

(vegan, gf, organic, low sugar)


1.5 T Qi superfood protein* from animamundiherbals
1 cup steamed, then frozen zucchini
1 cup unsweetened almond milk
4-6 drops omicaorganics vanilla stevia
1 tsp. spirulina
crushed ice
topped with toasted coconut chips and organic blueberries


Steam and freeze your zucchini ahead of time. (Refer to our Smoothie Prep 101 post to learn how to master smoothie prep to save time, avoid waste, and set yourself up for daily success.)

Blend the ingredients and enjoy!

*Note: Qi protein ingredients — Mesquite, Ashwagandha, Maca, Astragalus, Budrock, Slippery Elm, Ginger, Chia. You could replace it with your favorite plant-based protein powder and add in adaptogens individually as you wish.
