Broccoli Avocado Soup

This recipe comes from our friend Diana, a plant-based food blogger from New Zealand. Remember her amazing no-bake Strawberry Cheesecake? Now she’s back with a summer inspired soup made of broccoli and avocado. Eat this while dining alfresco or as a quick week-day lunch.

Broccoli Avocado Soup | Made with broccoli and avocado, this healthy soup recipe will keep you cool in summer and comfort you during winter. Dairy-free and vegan, all you need are a few fresh ingredients and a blender, and you’ll have a quicker dinner on the table in less than 15 minutes.

*makes 2 large servings


  • 2 heads of broccoli
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • squeeze half a lemon
  • 1 medium avocado
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 3/4 c warm water
  • salt and pepper

– to garnish –

  • 1/4 avocado
  • coriander or cilantro


1. Wash your broccoli and chop into small sections. Don’t discard the stalk — just remove the skin and dice.

2. Steam the broccoli for 5 minutes and transfer to a food processor. Add the rest of the ingredients and process until thick and creamy. The mixture will be warm from the steamed broccoli, but if you want, heat in a pot for a few minutes.

3. Serve! Find your favorite bowl and garnish with salt and pepper, avocado and herb of your choice (I went for coriander).
