You know those recipes that call for 14 ounces of pumpkin puree but you have a 15 ounce can? Or what about when you roast up a real pumpkin squash and no matter how little it looks going in it seems to produce a never-ending amount of puree? Well this is the solution. This mask recipe has three ingredients-pumpkin puree, ground oats, and pure, raw honey. Together, these ingredients complement each other in ways that will spoil your complexion. The pumpkin has so many healing vitamins and minerals resulting in a radiant glow. Oatmeal is a goddess for our skin so much so that people bathe with it. Raw honey is like gold. Honestly, it is. Honey has been known to treat and heal burns either from a kitchen mishap or from too much sun. It is powerful stuff that makes for a perfect, soft complexion. Pumpkin Oatmeal Face Mask
- *Makes 1 mask
2 Tbsp. organic canned or fresh pumpkin puree
1.5 Tbsp. ground oats
1 Tsp. Raw honey
1. Mix all the ingredients together thoroughly.
2. Spread the thick mixture on your face using the back of a small spoon. Pack it down if needed.
3. Leave the mask on for 15 minutes and using the curve of your spoon, scrape the mask off gently.
4. Using a facecloth, wipe away any remaining residue.
5. Feel free to apply this mask 2-3 times a week.
*Note: The ground oatmeal can also act as an exfoliant here so you could also use this recipe as a cleanser as well. Simply massage the mask mixture gently into your skin with circular movements and wash off. You could also choose to go to the next level and indulge in the mask too. Only use as an exfoliating cleanser once a week.
