Hi Everyone, allow me to introduce myself- my name is Robyn Lindars and I write a blog called GrillGrrrl.com. The focus of my blog is to share healthy grilling recipes that push the creative envelope of traditional recipes made on the grill. I started my blog about 4+ years ago as a way to document my favorite recipes, and it morphed into GrillGrrrl as I fell in love with grilling.
People are often surprised when I tell them the focus of my blog. “Grill-Girl” – as in “Grilling”- I have to tell people. They respond- “you mean, like on a barbecue?” Grilling is often mentally relegated to be the guy’s job in a household. I’m not sure how this happened, but I’ve got to tell you- you are missing out if you haven’t yet tried grilling. Why? Let me list the ways.
First of all, grilling is a sure fire way to add flavor to anything you throw on the grill. Grilling is inherently healthy as there’s no need for rich sauces as the grill adds a nice smokiness and flavor that stands on its own.
Secondly, it creates less dishes. LESS DISHES!!!! Your cooking surface is the grill and you can’t put that in the dishwasher afterwards.
Lastly, its just plain fun. Grilling outdoors is a great way to spend time with friends and family while enjoying some time outdoors. Perhaps this is why guys have been keeping grilling to themselves all these years! Who wouldn’t want to crack open a cold one and enjoy some time outside?
I started hosting “Women’s Grilling Clinics” a while back to share my passion for grilling with other women and found that there are quite a few of you who are the grillers in your household. Whatever your grilling knowledge, I’m going to be sharing recipes you will be delighted to make, and most importantly, delighted to eat! If you don’t have a grill, you can always use a grill pan. I’ll also be giving lots of tips on how to jump into the world of grilling.
I look forward to getting to know the (BodyBook) community and empowering you to try new recipes and cooking techniques. There is no better way to get out of your “recipe rut” than by firing up the grill!
