Don’t Send The Universe Mixed Messages

You’ll never be able to change your current situation if you have any ounce of hatred towards the people who are already in the situation you want to be in.

I recently took a little road trip to visit my best friend and leave it to long hours in the car, driving alone, to get your mind turning. I was listening to one of my favorite podcasts and he mentioned the quote above and this really got me thinking. He was encouraging listeners to be unapologetic about the things they desire. How often do we send the Universe mixed signals about what we want? Let me explain.

Whether you believe in The Universe or not wouldn’t you agree that the things you say are important? I’m a firm believer that what we say and do has a bigger impact than we truly realize. Let me give you a concrete example. You may deep down desire to have a fancy car, however, you’re worried about judgment from your friends or co-workers so when something comes up at lunch about your other co-worker who just got a new Bentley you join in on the conversation with everyone else saying how you’re sure she can’t afford it and why it’s a waste of resources. Deep down you envy her and her ability to splurge on this luxury automobile. This sends the Universe a mixed signal about what you desire. How can you desire something but then speak negatively about it at the same time? This sends mixed signals and will ultimately not bring about what you desire.

Have you heard the quote about how The Universe is always eavesdropping on your thoughts? It’s really kind of crazy when you start to think about it. Another example that’s common among women is to complain about men or relationships. Deep down we desire companionship or love but then we complain to our girlfriends that men are all pigs, a waste of time and only care about one thing. Viewing men in this light is not going to bring about the kind of partner you actually want a relationship with. The same is true for fitness, careers, you name it!

We ultimately cannot have something that we push away with our minds and actions. Today I would encourage you to take these three steps to truly embrace and grasp hold of what you truly desire and fully embrace that desire.

Take these four steps to get you headed in the right direction:

1 // Take some time to write down what it is you exactly desire in one or multiple areas of your life.

2 // Write down WHY what you listed about is important.

3 // Write down concrete action steps that will take you closer to your desired outcome.

4 // Strut around today like you’ve already achieved your desired outcome or goal.

How is your day different? How are the things you say different? Once you get in the habit of aligning your desires with your thoughts and actions magic truly starts to open. Still don’t believe me? Give it a try. I dare you!
