We love all-natural DIYs using ingredients found in nature. What better way to treat and heal your body than with herbs and oils that come from the earth? Today’s how-to comes from Candice Batista, the founder of the lifestyle blog The Eco Hub.
I’ve been back in the gym lately after taking a long break, for 10 years, doing other activities like yoga and running. I’d wanted to get back to lifting weights and we’ve (hubs and me) have been power lifting, a first for me, and it’s been really fun. But holy, I don’t t know if it’s my age or the time I have spent away from the gym that’s got me hurting, really hurting, the type of soreness where you can’t even sit down on the toilet.
All this got me thinking, I need a good recipe for a relaxing bath that will help ease my tired sore muscles.
Herbs to the recuse.
Herbs are an excellent addition to any DIY recipe and this one is super simple and effective. You are going to feel amazing after this soak, and the smell, well let me know what you think once you’ve made it.
Epson salts and baking soda both do wonders for the bod. But for this recipe, the stars of the show are the herbs.
• Dried chamomile has gentle healing and soothing properties.
• Pine Needles: Aids in muscle stiffness, has a mild analgesic property that gets deep into the muscle.
• Rosemary: Is antibacterial, anti-fungal and antiviral. It is also full of antioxidants.
• Peppermint Leaves: Known as a natural painkiller, it will soothe sore tired muscles.
• Eucalyptus Essential Oil is anti-inflammatory and will aid in relaxing sore muscles.
This soak calls for you to sit back and relax for a least 20 – 30 minutes. Taking time out of your day to have a little “me” time is one of the best things you can do for your mind, body, and soul. Self-care is really the cornerstone to ultimate happiness.
If you can squeeze in 30 mins, 10 mins, or even 1 minute a day just for you, you will reap the benefits of glowing skin, balanced health, and a more positive outlook on life
So give it a try already and don’t forget to post a photo and use the hashtag #TheEcoHub, I’d love to see your creations.
