The Body Book’s Comprehensive Beauty Gift Guide

The gift of thoughtful beauty is always welcomed and appreciated amongst my nearest and dearest, so this year I’ve rounded up some of my personal must-haves in the categories of hair, makeup, fragrance, consumable beauty and top drawer essentials. I hope this wide mix of edited favorites serve as inspiration for you and yours. I promise these gifts are so good you’ll want to grab a few (if not all) for yourself!

Facial Misting

Facial misting is my favorite thing to do at all hours of the day. It’s honestly becoming its own beauty ritual as I find any excuse to freshen up. First thing in the morning, before a long drive, when I went to settle into bed for a good nights sleep, or catch a late night movie and not fall asleep. Vitruvi Wake Mist, $24, and Sleep Mist, $24, are beautiful ways to establish nighttime and early morning routines. These respective scents help signal that’s its time to settle into the day or wind-down. We also love these after a warm shower or bath in the winter.

Your giftees will also love this dual-performing mist first thing in the morning because it’s a  hydrator and toner in one! Herbivore Rose Hibiscus, $32, is infused with pure plant extracts and the re-claiming youth power of hibiscus flower. You and your friends can feel as a fresh as a garden rose with just one spritz.

Cleansing + Hydration

How insanely gorgeous are these bottles? Check out Grown Alchemist’s Body Cleansing Kit, $90. This luxe duo hydrates and cleanses while restoring suppleness and firmness. Obsessed!

Kosås Color & Light: Creme in Tropic Equinox, $34, delivers a sun kissed face in a breeze. Gift your girl a versatile romantic flush for everyday with this  cream blush-illuminator duo.

I love Chanel’s Rouge Allure Ink Matte Liquid Lip Color, $37, because it’s a non-drying and pretty lasting. It’s the perfect blend of lip gloss meets lipstick with a luminous, velvet-like finish. Plus all the colors are pretty universal so it’s hard to pick a wrong color.

Give the gift of luxury with Oribe’s 2018 Holiday Assortments. These limited-edition gifts for the hair obsessed lady in your life are sure to please by offering lasting sexy fragrance, healing oils and reversing the daily damage of heat and pollution. Plus, this triple threat will serve as bath and vanity goals for months ahead. There’s a reason why this line is a cult-favorite—virtually every product is pure GOLD. Try the Gold Lust Collection, $114. This magical set  includes Gold Lust Shampoo, Gold Lust Conditioner, and Gold Lust Nourishing Oil.

Traveling or know someone who is? Give the gift of good hair on-the-go with OUAI Haircare Limited Edition Holiday 2018 Three OUAI Kit, for just $25.

In need of a stocking stuffer? Try IGK’s CRYBABY Anti-Frizz Smoothing Serum because nothing can be worse than staticky hair in the wintertime, $25, (available at This weightless serum formula inspired by skincare technology absorbs into the hair removing frizz and flyaways. Oh, and you gotta love that it’s 100% vegan and cruelty-free.

The Brush Crush Heated Straightening Brush by DRYBAR, $145, is at the top of my personal wish list. If your like me and have been struggling with hair stressors (see upcoming story on my well water debacle), then this little ditty promises to the settle the score on frizz and essentially dry and style your hair at the same time. That’s a win-win for this busy working mother of two.

Beauty Ingestibles

If you’ve been reading here for a while, or surely just about any beauty magazine, then you’ve heard of Beauty Chef’s Glow Advanced Inner Beauty Powder, $70. You really can’t go wrong with any product from the line, but why not gift one that promises to inject beauty from the inside-out? Infused with antioxidants, vitamins, minerals and essential fatty acids, give the gift of health—and perhaps one item your giftee might not get for themselves. We promise they’ll think of you every morning when they jam pack their smoothie with this special beauty glow powder.

Don’t know what to give…especially to the friend who has everything? Try Moon Juice’s magical sachets—we’re certainly a fan of the brand and their dusts. Not sure which one to give? Try Moon Juice’s The Full Moon Sachets, $35, a sampling mix of all the cult favorites including beauty, brain, power, spirit, dream and even sex.

Love the cult-classic fragrance of Oribe? Gift the actual scent to yourself or someone you love this holiday season with Cote d’Azur Eau de Parfum, $105. Now the signature hair scent lays the perfect foundation for a sexy (almost unisex) fine perfume. Sensual, yet subtle, virtually anyone can wear this scent because it blends so softly with your body chemistry. Note it wears almost like an after-bath cologne.

Nightstand Favorites

Not enough shut eye? Try Multi-Task Eye Serum Mask, $35, try this silky, all-in-one hydrogel eye mask designed to tackle fatigue, under eye dark circles, puffiness, fine lines and wrinkles—while you lounge in bed (asleep or awake).

Impress with a beautiful rich candle that envelopes the room with the scent of warmth that extends beyond the holidays. Try Simper Goods Coconut Milk & Spice Candle, $38, this decadent candle is blended with creamy coconut milk, honey, cinnamon and spicy sweet cardamom. Everyone that smells this candle in my home loves it and asks about it. Its luxe level at affordable price. In person, it makes a bold statement because the wax gives off an immediate heavenly scent and is faceted in heavy black glass with a weighted lid making it feel like a sensual treat.

Since this is a collection based on beauty, I’d be remiss not to include what could be the most beautiful sentiment of all—giving the gift of warmth, comfort, and hope after a long day.  I connected with this local Illinois vendor and got to experience the quality of her linen first hand and it honestly feels like heaven. Madly Wish is focused on delivering linens that offer timeless elegance, modern design, rich European weighted linen fabric all stitched together to deliver the familiarity of touch and tactile memory. Gift Madly Wish Essentials, $23-$90 or the Madly Wish Holiday Collection $24-$95.

I’m a big advocate of E.O. for health and wellness and Vitruvi happens to be my favorite in this beauty category—for myself and my kids. If you’re in the market for 100% pure Essential Oils then you honestly can’t go wrong with this top echelon of face and fragrance oils. For the holidays, try a Vitruvi Stone Diffuser, $119 (it doesn’t get any chicer then this) paired with Pacific or Dusk, $26/e two of my favorites.
